But we either believe in democracy or we do not. If you believe in democracy, you must believe in it unconditionally. If you believe that men should be free, then, they should have the right of free association, of free speech, of free publication. Then, no law should permit those democratic processes to be set at naught, and no excuse, whether of security, inconvenience to traffic, or inconvenience to police officers, should allow a government to be deterred from doing what it knows to be right, and what it must know to be right.

SPENDING THE long weekend on mortgages is really not what i signed up for.

THE PEOPLE around me constantly make me wonder when i missed the DISCIPLINE (necessarily) PAYS OFF memo. while i sometimes think about how infinitely rewarding and ooh afterglowy it would be to be on top of things for once, i can never bring myself to do anything about it. no matter how enticing it would be to blame it all on insecurity and fear of failure and thus exporting responsibility... i think i'm just lazy.
